Christmas Hiking/Escalada Navideña (#6)

Hello there! Welcome once again to the Out Of Place Project blog.

I hope you all had nice holidays and will have a good year's closure, and I also hope you all liked the Christmas special we prepared for you; none of you saw that one coming, right? ;)

Here we are now, back on business. As I said on the fifth picture update, the blog will be updated on Fridays from now on, starting on this update. Please note that whenever there are specials done due to a special event or date, those will not interfere with the posting of the regular series unless noted.

As you have already noticed, the blog's appearance has changed since Photo #5. The changes made were:

1. - Blog colors were changed (believe it or not, the colors weren’t changed to match the season or holidays, I just liked the combination, but turned out to work also for the Christmas season)

2. - The Spanish sections of the updates were all changed to yellow and italics, this was done to match the change done since Photo #4 to the Spanish part of the text. Now all posts have that change done to them and the Photo #1 and Welcome post were also changed of font to match the rest of the updates.

3. - Introduction of the Cbox to the blog.

I know, you’re thinking: What is that Cbox thing? Well, the Cbox is a thing I found for you people who may want to leave comments without replying into the picture because you don’t have an account in Blogger, you’re too rushed to sign in, etc. You can leave a message by just putting your name where it says Name (duh! ;) ) and writing down what’s on your mind where it says Message and when you’re done, press Go. If you want to use smilies, click where it says Smilies.

It will also work like a kind of chat, in case people who visit this blog want to leave each other a message THAT HAS TO DO DIRECTLY WITH THE PROJECT ITSELF. Please refrain of posting comments that don’t relate directly to this project or blog, and also remember to be nice, any rude comment in any way, will be deleted with no hesitation.

Now, without out of the way, let's go into this week's update.
First of all, the picture you see this week was picked by the gang itself, they explicitly asked me to use this one for this update since another picture was used for the special, and they really wanted this one to be shown to all of you.

As you have already noticed, the Christmas special photo and this one are related, and here's why.

The gang and me had the idea of making a photo related to this season, and in the look for locations, we spotted a Christmas tree that the gang liked (and we had access to without fearing of being "gently asked to leave" if you know what I mean), Felix was the one who liked it the most, since he wanted to climb another tree after the one he climbed in Photo #5 , so we decided to shoot at that tree.

We took several pictures, as we always do when making shots for every week's update, but we had to pick one for the Christmas special, unfortunately that always leaves other options out or not seen.

So, we settled for the picture you saw in the special, but the gang really wanted this one to be shown to you, and here it is.

This shot in particular was a bit difficult to do, since they all had to stand or grab or sit on the same branch at the same time, and the branch wasn’t that strong to hold them all without bending down slowly, so we had to be quick and precise not to take too long, otherwise the branch would have broke, not to mention the fact that it was cold and windy, but like I told them, those are the joys of shooting.

Like last time, Felix had no problem climbing up and getting ready for the picture (you know how cats are), Batman used his gadgets to get there and Crash had a break this time, since he had an easier time to get there than last time, since the tree had more places for him to grab, rather than slipping down...

But if you look at the picture, the one who got the best seat available was the cat, he abuses of his tree-climbing skill and shows off with the other two sometimes.

I hope you like this picture, the gang and me like this one a lot, and we thought it was too good to leave it in the archive, that’s why we're showing it to you.

¡Hola! Bienvenido una vez al blog de Proyecto Fuera De Lugar.

Espero que todos se la hayan pasado bien en estos días y que tengan un buen fin de año, y también espero que les haya gustado el especial de Navidad que preparamos para ustedes, nadie lo vio venir, ¿cierto? ;)

Aquí estamos de nuevo, de vuelta a lo nuestro. Como dije en la actualización de la quinta foto, este blog será actualizado a partir de los viernes de ahora en adelante, empezando con esta actualización. Por favor tengan en cuenta que cuando se hagan especiales debido a eventos o fechas especiales, eso no interferirá con la puesta de las fotos de la serie regular a menos que sea indicado lo contrario.

Como ya lo habrás notado, la apariencia de este blog ha cambiado desde la Foto #5. Los cambios hechos fueron:

1.- Los colores del blog fueron cambiados (creelo o no, los colores no fueron cambiados para combinar con la temporada o festividades, simplemente me gusto la combinación, pero resulto que combina con la temporada de Navidad).

2.- Todas las secciones en español de las actualizaciones fueron cambiadas a amarillo e itálicas, esto fue hecho para todas se vieran uniformes al cambio hecho a las partes en español que ocurrió a partir de la Foto #4. Ahora todos los artículos tienen ese cambio hecho en ellos y el tipo de letra de los artículos Foto #1 y Bienvenido fue cambiado para que sea uniforme con el resto de los artículos.

3.- Introducción de la Cbox al blog.

Se lo que están pensando: ¿Que es esa cosa Cbox? Bueno, la Cbox es una cosita que encontré para las personas que quieran dejar comentarios sin responder directamente a la foto, ya sea por que no tienen cuenta en Blogger, no tienen tiempo de iniciar sesión, etc. Pueden dejar un mensaje simplemente poniendo tu nombre donde dice Name y escribiendo en donde dice Message, y cuando termines, presiona en Go. Si quieres usar emoticones (caritas), haz clic donde dice Smilies.

También puede funcionar como una especie de chat, en caso de que la gente que visite este blog quiera dejar un comentario a alguien más SIEMPRE Y CUANDO TENGA QUE VER DIRECTAMENTE CON EL PROYECTO EN SI. Por favor evita poner comentarios que no tengan que ver directamente con este proyecto o blog, y también recuerda ser amable, cualquier comentario que sea irrespetuoso será borrado sin excepción.

Ahora, con eso fuera del camino, vayamos a la actualización de esta semana.

Primero, la foto que ves esta semana fue escogida por la pandilla, ellos explícitamente me pidieron que usara esta foto para esta actualización ya que se uso otra para el especial, y ellos querían que esta fuera mostrada a todos ustedes.

Como ya lo habrán notado, la foto del especial de Navidad y esta están relacionadas, y he aquí por que.

La pandilla y yo tuvimos la idea de hacer una foto relacionada con la temporada, y en la búsqueda de locaciones, nos topamos con un árbol que a la pandilla le gusto (y al que tuvimos acceso sin temor a que nos corrieran "de una manera muy amable" si sabes a lo que me refiero), A Félix fue al que mas le gusto, ya que quería subir a otro árbol después del que subió en la Foto #5, así que decidimos trabajar en ese árbol.

Tomamos varias fotos, como siempre hacemos cuando tomamos fotos para la actualización de cada semana, pero tuvimos que escoger solo una para el especial de Navidad, desafortunadamente eso implica que otras opciones no se usen o no se vean.

Así que nos decidimos por la foto que viste en el especial, pero la pandilla realmente quería que vieras esta, y aquí esta.

Esta toma en particular fue un poco difícil de hacer, ya que tuvieron que pararse, o sostenerse o sentarse en la misma rama al mismo tiempo, y la rama no era lo suficientemente fuerte para sostenerlos a todos sin doblarse hacia abajo lentamente, así que tuvimos que ser rápidos y precisos para no tomarnos demasiado tiempo, de lo contrario la rama se hubiera roto, y nos olvidemos del hecho de que estaba haciendo frió y viento, pero como les dije, esas son las delicias de tomar fotos.

Como la ultima vez, Félix no tuvo problema para subir y prepararse para la toma (tu sabes como son los gatos), Batman uso sus artilugios para llegar ahí y Crash la tuvo fácil esta vez, ya que fue mas fácil para el llegar hasta ahí que la vez pasada, el árbol tenia mas lugar para que se agarrara en vez de resbalarse...

Pero si ves bien la imagen, el que tuvo el mejor asiento, fue el gato, abusa de su habilidad para subir árboles y presume de eso con los otros dos a veces. Espero te guste esta foto, a la pandilla y a mi nos gusta mucho, y pensamos que era muy buena para dejarla en el archivo, por eso te la estamos mostrando.

A New Challenge/Un Nuevo Desafío (#5)

Hello hello! Welcome to the fifth update of the Out Of Place Project blog!

5 weeks going and we're still here! I'm glad of the direction the project is taking and how I’ve been changing things in this blog to make things easier or more fun for you people. Be sure to keep supporting us with your visits and comments!

Before getting into this week's picture, Ill mention a few changes that will take place since this week. First, to make a difference in the texts in English and Spanish, Ill be leaving the English part in white and Spanish will be posted in yellow color and in italics, this is made to make reading easier on visitors and to make a visible separation of texts so people that look only for Spanish or English don’t have to browse through the whole mass of text.

Second, since the poll is almost done and the result doesn’t seem to be changing overnight, the updates of this blog will be moved to Friday, so this will be the last update done on Thursday, next week check on Friday. In the event that for some magic reason some people find the blog and vote for another day and that gets the most, Ill post the updates on that day and Ill make another post to let you all know of that, but for now, I will start doing it on Friday from now on.

Now then, to business. Like I said last week, the gang had so much fun outside that they didn’t want to come indoors this week, so I had to follow them all around this week while they had fun.

This week's picture is mostly because of Felix, if you look at it, you’ll notice well why, if not, a hint for you, what do cats like to do when they see a tree?

Of course that to get there was easy for Felix, for Batman also (his utility belt is handy every time), Crash is the one who suffered a bit to get there, he kept slipping...but he made it eventually, and he was proud of his achievement, that’s why he looks so proud of himself.

The funny part however, was getting them down, Batman had to take Crash down with him, but Felix refused to, he said he was fine where he was and that we could carry on without him. I told him that it wasn’t possible to do so, that we needed him to come down to carry on, but he said no. Batman and Crash tried to reason with him also but he kept refusing to come down, so I decided to get moving with Batman and Crash and I said: "Well, maybe another cat will take his place in this project, there are plenty of trees for us to visit still", Batman and Crash looked at me like "What are you talking about?" but Felix didn't like the idea of other cat taking over his place and came down faster than he took to climb the tree, and then he said that he changed his mind and decided to keep going with us.

Lesson for you people: Never be afraid to taunt a cat's pride from time to time when they get stubborn on you ;)

We'll see where we end up next week...

¡Hola hola!, ¡bienvenido a la quinta actualización de este blog!

¡5 semanas y aquí seguimos! Estoy contento de la dirección que este proyecto esta tomando y como he estado cambiando cosas en este blog para hacer las cosas mas fáciles o mas divertidas para ustedes. ¡Continúa apoyándonos con tus visitas y comentarios!

Antes de empezar con la foto de esta semana, mencionare algunos cambios que tomaran lugar a partir de esta semana. Primero, para hacer los textos en ingles y español diferentes, dejare la parte en ingles en blanco, y la parte en español será puesta en amarillo e itálicas, esto con el fin de hacer la lectura mas fácil para los visitantes y para hacer una separación visible de los textos para que la gente que solo busque el texto en español o en donde termina la parte en ingles no tengan que buscar por todo el cuerpo del texto.

Segundo, como la encuesta ya casi esta terminada y los resultados no parece que vayan a cambiar de la noche a la mañana, las actualizaciones a este blog serán movidas a los días Viernes. Así que esta será la última actualización hecha en jueves, la que sigue esperala el viernes. En el caso de que por alguna mágica razón algunas personas encuentren este blog y voten por otro día y ese día obtiene la mayoría de los votos, pondré las actualizaciones ese día y haré otra entrada para hacerles saber de eso, pero por ahora, lo empezare a hacer a partir del viernes.

Ahora bien, al grano. Como dije la semana pasada, la pandilla tuvo tanta diversión afuera que no quisieron regresar a los interiores, así que los tuve que seguir por todos lados esta semana mientras ellos se divertían. La razón de la toma de esta semana es en gran parte por Félix, si la ves con atención, notaras bien por que, si no, una pista para ayudarte, ¿que es lo que todos los gatos les gusta hacer cuando ven un árbol?

Por supuesto que el llegar ahí fue fácil para Félix, para Batman también (su cinturón con accesorios siempre es útil) Crash fue el que sufrió un poco para llegar ahí, ya que se resbalaba cada que subía...pero eventualmente lo logro y estaba orgulloso de su logro, por eso se ve tan orgulloso de si mismo.

La parte divertida fue bajarlos, Batman tuvo que bajar junto con Crash, pero Félix se negaba rotundamente, dijo que el estaba bien donde estaba y que nosotros podíamos seguir sin el. Le dije que eso no era posible hacer eso, que necesitábamos que bajara para poder seguir, pero dijo que no. Batman y Crash trataron de razonar con el, pero seguía diciendo que no, así que decidí irme con Batman y Crash y dije: "Bueno, tal vez otro gato tomara su lugar en este proyecto, aun hay muchos árboles para visitar", Batman y Crash me vieron con cara de "¿De que hablas?" pero a Félix no le gusto la idea de otro gato tomando su lugar y bajo mas rápido de lo que le tomo subirse al árbol, luego dijo que había cambiado de parecer y decidió continuar con nosotros.

Lección para ustedes: Nunca teman el azuzar el orgullo de un gato de vez en cuando se ponga terco con ustedes ;)

Can You See Us?/¿Puedes Vernos? (#4)

Welcome again to the Out Of Place Project blog, we had a bit of a setback this week due to problems with planning and the time was really scarce since I had a lot of stuff to do, but fortunately I managed to get back on track with few days overdue.

But here we are now, with the fourth picture of this project. One of the reasons for the delaying in the delivery of this picture was due to the fact that planning wasn’t completed in time and the production was stalled due to this, I would have still had the time to do it if I hadn’t so much to do…Take my advice, if you got to go to the banks, learn to handle your account through internet, it’s a lot easier that way…

Anyway, this week the Out Of Place gang went OUTDOORS! After spending a while in indoor environments, they decided to go out and enjoy everything that’s out there; they also told me that I didn’t have much of a choice since I kept them waiting for production of this shot, so…

Having told me that, they decided to hit the road and see what was out there, after last week’s sneak, they thought it would be a good idea to explore their surroundings, and again, I lost them for a while since they really like to move around, and they move around faster than I can follow, so, I tend to lose them, but fortunately not permanently, otherwise there wouldn’t be any photos, obviously.

After hiding themselves for quite a while and having so much fun looking how I was searching for them everywhere, they decided to take a sneak peak and give me a kind of hint to make me find them, but really, how I was supposed to see Felix or Batman in that background when they’re both black?! The only reason I noticed them was because of Crash’s fault, his skin colour is (fortunately) really noticeable in dark backgrounds. Batman and Felix weren’t too happy about this, apparently those two still wanted to have a bit of further fun with me.

Apparently the gang liked so much their trip to the outside that possibly next week Ill be posting another picture of them in some place out there, stay tuned.

I hope you liked this week’s picture, and Im sorry for the delay, I didn’t want to make a rushed or half cooked picture just to be on time, I preferred to sacrifice punctuality instead of diminishing the quality of work you see here, and I feel that would be cheating on the project itself.

Bienvenido de nuevo al blog de Proyecto Fuera De Lugar, tuvimos un retraso esta semana debido a problemas con la planeación y por falta de tiempo, ya que tenía muchas cosas que hacer, pero afortunadamente logre volver con pocos días de retraso.

Pero aquí estamos de nuevo, con la cuarta foto de este proyecto. Una de las razones por las cuales la entrega de esta foto se retraso, fue debido al hecho de que la planeación no se completo a tiempo y la producción se detuvo debido a eso, hubiera podido haber tenido el tiempo de haber completado las dos cosas si no hubiera tenido tanto que hacer…Un consejo, si tienes que ir a los bancos, aprende a manejar tu cuenta a través de Internet, es muchísimo mas fácil de esa forma…

En fin, esta semana la pandilla Fuera De Lugar ¡fue al EXTERIOR! Después de pasar un rato adentro de lugares, decidieron salir y disfrutar todo lo que hay allá afuera; también me dijeron que no tenia mucha opción de todas formas, ya que los tuve esperando para la producción de esta toma, así que…

Habiéndome dicho eso, decidieron tomar carretera y ver que había afuera. Después del escape sigiloso de la semana pasada, pensaron que seria una buena idea el explorar sus alrededores, y de nuevo, los perdí por un rato; les gusta mucho moverse a diferentes lugares, y se mueven mas rápido de lo que yo puedo seguirlos, así que, tiendo a perderlos. Afortunadamente no es para siempre, de lo contrario no habría fotos, obvio.

Después de esconderse por un buen rato y habiéndose divertido de lo lindo viendo como los buscaba por todos lados, decidieron asomarse sigilosamente y darme una especie de pista para que los encontrara, pero la verdad, ¿¡Como se supone que voy a ver a Félix o a Batman en ese fondo si los dos son negros?! La única razón por la cual los note, fue por culpa de Crash, su color de piel es (afortunadamente) muy fácil de ver en fondos oscuros. Batman y Félix no estaban muy contentos por esto, aparentemente esos dos querían tener un poco mas de diversión a mis costillas.

Por lo visto, la pandilla disfruto mucho de su viaje al exterior que posiblemente la semana que entra, estaré poniendo una foto de ellos en algún lugar allá afuera, estén pendientes.

Espero te haya gustado la foto de esta semana, y pido disculpas por el retraso, no quiera hacer una foto apresurada o mal hecha solo para ponerla a tiempo, preferí sacrificar puntualidad en vez de reducir la calidad de trabajo que ves aquí, y siento que apresurarme hubiera sido hacerle trampa al proyecto en si.

Careful Sneaking/Escabuyendose Con Cuidado (#3)

Greetings people! The Out Of Place gang is back!

This is the beginning of the third week of this project and I’ve got more feedback from people during this past week about this and so far, people like it. I’m glad to see this is having a good impact on you.

In case you haven’t noticed, we got some new items that weren’t here at the beginning of week two, there’s the project logo (designed by myself) and the copyright notices both in English and Spanish, to friendly remind you that the pictures in this blog are protected and they’re not up for grabs, just because its in the internet, doesn’t mean its ok to just take it as yours.

Be sure to participate in the poll I’m going to post this week, to determine which day you want the pictures to appear, maybe Thursday isn’t precisely the best day for some of you, maybe you want them to appear during the weekend, or maybe you want it as it is right now, make your choice count and vote.

This week the gang went to what’s possibly the most obvious place to find them, it was even a home coming for Batman in a manner of speaking… So it’s possible that most of you guess right away where the shot was taken at, but still, if you have an idea that’s not the actual place, share it!

For those of you who don’t know your way around Blogger really well, this is how it goes to leave a message:

1. - Click where it says: 0 (Or other number if there are replies) Replicas, this will make a window to pop out.

2.- On that window, scroll down to where it says, Leave A Message, write your comments there, then below that, there are 3 options of how to identify yourself when you leave the message:

A: if you’re a Blogger user, you’ll have to sign in and you’re good to go.

B: If you’re not a Blogger user, you can leave a message either using a nickname or anonymous. I recommend using a nickname though, if you make a good comment, you’ll want people to know who said so.

3. - Press where it says Publish Your Comment and it’s done!

In case that you can’t publish it no matter what, send me a mail to let me know, or if you got me in your MSN messenger, through there.
Back to the photo, the gang decided to go and visit a place known to Batman, but they didn’t just go out in public and all, they wore disguises, apparently they’re becoming famous and known around but they’re still shy, so they decided to wear disguises. It worked for them; no one noticed them moving around, even though the place was full of people. I was able to get this picture of them because they stopped to look around before they proceeded to sneak out of where they were, so consider yourself lucky to see this ;)

I learnt a lesson with this shot, sometimes, the best place to hide, is to go to where you’re expected to be or where you’ll blend with the environment around you…

Este es el inicio de la tercera semana de este proyecto y obtuve mucha respuesta de la gente sobre este proyecte durante esta ultima semana y al parecer a la gente le gusta. Me da gusto saber que esto esta teniendo un buen impacto en ti.

En caso de que no lo hayas notado, tenemos algunas cosas que no estaban al principio de la semana dos, esta el logotipo del proyecto (diseñado por mi) y los avisos de derechos de autor en ingles y español, para recordar amablemente que las fotografías en este blog están protegidas y que no están para tomarlas así no mas, solo por que este en el Internet, no significa que lo puedes tomar como si fuera tuyo.

Asegurate de participar en la encuesta que voy a poner esta semana, para determinar que día quieres que aparezcan las fotos, tal vez el Jueves no es el mejor día para ti, tal vez quieras que aparezcan durante el fin de semana, o tal vez quieras que se quede como esta, asegurate de votar y que tu opinión cuente.

Esta semana la pandilla fue a lo que probablemente sea el lugar mas obvio para encontrarlos, de hecho fue como un regreso a casa para Batman, desde cierto punto de vista… así que es posible que muchos de ustedes adivinen enseguida en donde se tomo la foto, pero si tienes una idea de donde puede ser aunque no sea el lugar exacto, ¡compártela!

Para aquellos de ustedes que no saben muy bien como moverse en Blogger, aquí les va como dejar un mensaje:

1.- Hagan clic donde dice 0 (u otro numero si hay respuestas) Replicas, esto hará que una nueva ventana se abra.

2.- En esa ventana que se abrió, bajen a donde dice Leave A Message (Deja Un Comentario), escribe tu comentario ahí, debajo de eso, hay 3 opciones para identificarte cuando dejes un mensaje:

A: Si eres un usuario de Blogger, tendrás que accesar y con eso ya puedes dejar tu mensaje.

B: Si no eres un usuario de Blogger, deja tu mensaje usando un apodo o de manera anónima, yo sugiero que uses un apodo, si haces un buen comentario, querrás que la gente sepa quien lo dijo.

3.- Presiona donde dice Publish Your Comment (Publicar tu comentario) y eso es todo.

En caso de que no puedas dejar tu comentario a pesar de haber tratado todo lo posible, mandame un correo electrónico para hacerme saber, o en caso de que me tengas en tu lista de MSN Messenger, a través de ahí.

De vuelta a la foto, la pandilla decidió ir a visitar un lugar conocido para Batman, pero no fueron y se dejaron ver en público, usaron disfraces, aparentemente se están volviendo famosos y conocidos, pero son tímidos aun, así que decidieron usar disfraces que ves en la foto. Les funciono, nadie los noto cuando se movían alrededor, a pesar de que el lugar estaba lleno de gente. Fui capaz de tomar esta foto por que se detuvieron a ver a su alrededor antes de seguir escabulléndose, así que considérate afortunado de poder ver esto ;)

Aprendí una lección con esta toma, a veces el mejor lugar para esconderse, es ir a donde se espera que estés o donde te puedas mezclar con el ambiente alrededor de ti...
