A Giant Sight/Una Vista Enorme (#17)

English:

(First stop of the Where Are We And Who Are You Tour)

Hello people! You’re right in time to catch the newest entry in the Out Of Place Project blog.

Before we begin, there are a few things that need to be covered.

First, if you look at the right side of your window, you will see that the order of the items contained there has changed once again, and that it contains two new items: a button to bookmark and save this site to your Favorites in Internet Explorer (if it works in other browsers like FireFox, Opera, etc, lets us know please) and mention this blog in several blogging and social networks, if you use this button, please let us know how useful it is for you.

Along with that one, comes the RSS Feed button, those of you who use RSS Feeds can now subscribe to this blog’s feed using several web-based feed readers. Also, if you don’t use web based feed readers but rather your explorer, click End on your keyboard and click where it says Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There you will be able to also subscribe to this blog’s feed within your explorer.

But what is RSS feed? In few words, you know when a site has been updated without going to it, either your browser tells you or the service you use tells you. Ill try to make a more in-depth explanation of this in another update.

Now then, to business!

Last week the gang decided to hit the road and we started our maiden voyage, The Where Are We And Who Are You Tour.

We left during the night, despite Felix’s complains, and we began our travel.

While I was driving, Batman and Crash were looking through the co-pilot’s window, actually, Batman was holding Crash to prevent him from falling out of the Black Mosquito, since Crash was too busy waving his arms and screaming: A-weeeee!!! O-hooo!!, and Felix was sleeping in the back seat covered with a blanket.

As we drove through the streets, suddenly Crash scream:

Crash: WOAH! LOOK AT THAT!!!

He pointed at a scale replica of the Eiffel Tower where we three saw a huge orangutan climbing it and looking around.

Batman said:

Batman: This is indeed quite a scene, considering the time, however, I wonder if he is friendly or hostile.

Me: Well, we could stop and ask him.

Crash (loud): And what are you waiting for?! We got to meet him! Isn’t this the whole purpose of this tour and all? How many characters could say they know such huge guy?

Felix woke up and asked while still somewhat sleepy:

Felix: Can’t a cat get a decent rest while travelling? What’s the whole fuss about now?

Crash: Look out the window!!

Felix looked and panicked when he saw the orang-utan and said:

Felix: What are we still doing here?! Are we waiting for that thing to spot us and chase us or he is serving tea and cookies?!

Crash: We got to meet him Felix! Look how cool he looks up there!

Felix: Cool is going to be when he finishes eating you and goes for me next!

Batman: Relax Felix, orangutans eat mostly fruit, some plants and sometimes insects, they don’t eat cats.

Felix: Aaahh! So now you’re the great naturalist.

Me: Are you going to keep complaining or should I stop so we can talk to him?

Felix: You go if you want, Ill stay here with the Black Mosquito in case things turn messy.

Me: Felix, come on.

Felix: I’m not going, final.

After Felix said that, I noticed how Batman and Crash nodded their heads and rushed towards Felix and grabbed him between the two of them, got down of the car and approached the orangutan.

I parked and got the camera ready as I was walking towards them and I heard Crash calling the orang-utan:

Crash: Hey yooooouuuuu!!!!

Crash waved at it while Batman was holding Felix to prevent him from going back to the Black Mosquito:

Felix: Let me go!!! If you want to be its dinner, go ahead, but not me, I’m not wasting one of my lives on this.

Batman: You’re going to stay here, we’re a gang, which means that we remain together in any situation.

Crash: Hey yoooouuu big fella!!!!

The orangutan didn’t pay attention to Crash, and Felix said:

Felix: See? He is not going to come down or pay any attention to you, can we go now?

Suddenly I noticed how the orangutan started to stare at us and suddenly he let himself go off the tower and fell in front of Crash, pushing him away with the impact.

Crash: Wow! That’s awesome! Again again again!

Batman (to Felix) You were saying?

Felix: Shut up…

Orangutan: Whosa are yousa and what you want?

Crash: My name is Crash! The big guy over there with a cape is Batman and the scared cat behind him is Felix, and we are the Out Of Place gang, and what’s your name big boy?

Orangutan: Mesa is Jango Jango, climbing orang-utan of monoments

Batman: Pleasure to meet you Jango Jango

Crash: You like to climb monuments Jango Jango?

Jango Jango: Yez, mesa lika to climbing monoments all over the world. Jango Jango needs to climbing the Eefil Tower to cross of his list.

Felix (whispering to Batman): Ptss, ask him if he travels also.

Batman: Jango Jango, my friend Felix here wants me to ask you if you travel to climb monuments.

Jango Jango: Monoments, yousa say monoments. Yez, mesa travel to climbing monoments, mesa once reads a book of explorer who travelled to jungle where Jango Jango liveds and sees lot of monoments and Jango Jango decides to climb them instead of climbing trees.

Then Jango Jango stares at Felix and asks:

Jango Jango (a bit bothered): Whyza yousa friend hides behind yousa? He afraid of Jango Jango?

Batman (whispering to Felix): Now would be a good time to stop playing hide and seek here and come out before he gets bothered for good…

Jango Jango approached Batman and then looked at Felix and said:

Jango Jango (bothered): Well? Yousa afraid of Jango Jango?!

Felix: Get away and don’t eat me!!!

Jango Jango stared fixedly at him for a moment, I made a sign to Batman to be ready to grab Felix out of Jango Jango’s way in case he tried to grab Felix.

Jango Jango kept looking at Felix and suddenly said:

Jango Jango (calmed): Jango Jango not does eats furballs, dumb dumb.

He turned around and walked towards the tower while Felix was furious at what he said:

Felix: How did you call me?! If there is a furball here, that’s you dense monkey!

Jango Jango (bothered): Whatza did yousa say?!

Batman (covering Felix’s mouth): Nothing, that he is glad he is a furball!

Jango Jango: Jango Jango isa hairy, no furball.

Crash tried to divert attention from Felix and said:

Crash: Hey Jango, show me how you climb this monument.

Jango Jango: Yez, Jango Jango shows yousa.

Meanwhile, Batman tried to talk Felix into some sense:

Batman (to Felix): It would help if you stay quiet until we leave, he seems friendly, don’t spoil it, eh?

Felix: He called me a furball! I’m bald compared to him!!

Batman: True, but we want him on our side or against us?

Felix: On our side…

Batman: Good, then be polite to him

Jango Jango started to climb and that’s when I said:

Me: Jango Jango, would you mind to take a picture with the gang, so we have something to remember you?

Jango Jango: Yousa have remembering problems?

Crash: It’s not that Jango, we want to have something to show our friends that we met you.

Jango Jango: Mesa doesn’t like phootoos, white bright lights hurt Jango Jango’s eyes.

Me: You mean the flash?

Jango Jango: Yez, no flash

Me: No problem, I can take it without the flash.

Jango Jango: Weza have a deal

So he sat in front of the tower and the gang climbed onto him, but before Felix did that, he said:

Felix: I’m sorry if I insulted you Jango Jango

Jango Jango: Yousa apologizzzing?

Felix: Yeah, we want you to be our friend

Jango Jango: Yousa arr the first to apologizzze to Jango Jango, ok den, all yousa are friends of Jango Jango

Crash: Weeeeee!

Batman: Excellent!

Jango Jango grabbed Felix and placed him on top of his head while I prepared to take the shot, and Batman whispered to Felix:

Batman (whispering): Careful Felix, careful, he is going to eat you!

Felix (whispering): Shut up you!

Once I was ready, I told them not to move, and I took the picture you see here.

After they came down, Crash said:
Crash: I told you guys that it was going to be cool to meet him!

Jango Jango: Mesa thinks you guys are a cool boonch.

Felix: What are you going to do once you climb this tower Jango?

Jango Jango: Mesa climbs the Latinamerrikan Tower, mesa wants to visit that.

Batman: We wish you good luck on that Jango Jango.
Me: Guys, we need to leave, we need to sleep to continue our travel.

Felix: That’s the soundest idea I’ve heard so far…

Crash: Hey Jango Jango, can you teach me how to climb trees?

Jango Jango: Yez! Jango Jango climbs trees with his eyes close.

Jango Jango approached a tree that was in front of the tower and taught Crash how to climb a tree until Crash was able to do it fast and easily enough.

They both came down and Crash said:

Crash: I know how to climb trees now! No more trouble to climb one anymore.

Felix (to him): We’ll see about that…

Me: Ok guys, time to say goodbye

Me: It was nice to meet you Jango Jango, and good luck on your trip.

Batman: And be careful when you climb

Felix: Good luck Jango Jango, we hope to see you again

Crash: And thanks for teaching me how to climb trees! You’re a very cool orang-utan

Jango Jango: Jango Jango is happy to know yousa all.

Then he started climbing the tower until he got to the top and scream:

Jango Jango: Jango Jango mades it!!

We waved goodbye from below and we started walking back to the Black Mosquito, when we were ready to leave, Jango Jango scream:

Jango Jango: Goodbye Out Of Plaze gangsters!!!

And he waved goodbye to us as we drove away.

Not bad for our first stop eh? I hope you liked this week's picture, and please be sure to leave us your comments, remember that your feedback is a VERY important part of this project. ;)

We’re now on the move again, where will we be next week and who will we meet? Be sure to check the blog to know that!

See you next week!

Batman: Relájate Félix, orangutanes comen fruta principalmente, algunas plantas y a veces insectos, no comen gatos.

Felix: ¡Aaahh!

Félix: No voy, punto.

Crash: ¿Te gusta escalar monumentos Jango Jango?

Jango Jango: Monomentos, tu deber decir monomentos.

Entonces Jango Jango ve a Félix y pregunta:

¿Temer a Jango Jango?

Jango Jango (molesto): ¿Bien? ¡¿Tu tener miedo a Jango Jango?!

Felix: ¡¿Como me llamaste?!

Jango Jango: Zi, Jango Jango mostrarte.

Jango Jango: Zi, flash no

Jango Jango: Tener tratado entonces.

Batman (voz baja): Cuidado Félix, cuidado, ¡te va a comer!

Crash: Oye Jango Jango, ¿me puedes ensañar a escalar árboles?

Jango Jango: ¡Zi!

Jango Jango: ¡¡¡Adiós pandilleros Fuera De Lugar!!!

  3. Well, it didnt take them long after the take off to note down their first significant stop
And definitely a pretty unusual one, at least considering whom they met.....nothing that would have crossed my mind regarding who they may see on the journey....this was really unexpected for me (and for the gang obviously)...but its the surprises like this which make things more tense and interesting
So its actually good Crash was waving through the window, otherwise, he may have never spotted the orangutan....i just wonder if he was also making faces at people in cars passing by?
poor Felix though...having in mind the average time cats sleep a day, he surely is getting behind in his....but one day he'll be grateful for it, since its worth it...and I dont blame the poor cat for getting scared as he was....Id be also at first after seeing such a huge thing....though Jango Jango looks really cute and timid, despite its size....he doesnt seem as he'd do any harm, which actually was proved in his contact with the gang

When Jango Jango asks Felix if he is afraid of him, I actually was surprised to see Felix confronting him...I would expect something more like Felix coming out from behind Batman's back and all apologetically telling Jango Jango "ohh....no no....who me? no no...I was just tired and leaning against him....im not scared....pfffffff....why should i be scared from you...." (with his knees shaking all the time)...so his confrontation really was surprising...way to go Felix! thats an attitude ;-)....and hahahahhaa, the way Felix tells Jango Jango that he is a furball.....hahahhahahhaaa....thats actually hilarious!!
And again, despite it all, Jango Jango proves to be so good-hearted, when agreeing to pose for the picture and even putting Felix above his head....its amazing with what care he took Felix, without hurting him....even though he is so huge and moreover, having in mind how Felix behaved with him
Though while looking at the picture, I can still sense some fear in Felix.....I guess he was really scared, both coz he didnt really trust the Jango Jango, plus, he was aware that he actually didnt treat the new friend fairly well, so he kept fearing that at any time the Jango Jango might strike with a revenge....well, that should be like a lesson of how to behave in the future with someone he sees for the first time and not to judge them at once without giving a chance to meet them...precaution is ok, but being so negative, not really
Crash is definitely enjoying all this...despite the time, he feels so energetic and always ready for fun, adventures....and nonsense...and i bet in himself he is laughing about the "conversation" between Jango Jango and Felix

and definitely the other surprise is Crash's initiation to learn to climb trees....he was staying away from them as water from fire....but its nice to see that changed...I think the whole thing with Felix and Jango Jango, gave him some self-esteem, plus he wanted to do something which would make annoy Felix and show off he can actually do it....so he used the right guy for a teacher....quite wise ;-))))

I really love this picture....and i especially love Jango Jango....there such warmth in him, he is so good hearted...and the way he speaks........just really adds to growing fond of him! Im really glad the gang noticed him and decided to stop by....it would have been a pity to miss having Jango Jango around

good luck to the gang on the continuity of their journey....hopefully Felix will finally get the sleep he needs, and I hope their next stop would be another nice surprise
and good luck to Jango Jango in his mission to climb as many monuments around the world as possible...he deserves it...he is just so damn great!

regarding the bookmark/rss feed buttons....they work pretty fine, whichever option you choose, the bookmark favourites works ok with firefox...the one of the services i prefer is technorati, coz it seems most user friendly for now....bloglines are also ok, but technorati appeared to be more user-friendly for me....if any feedback is needed upon that, let me know
however, the problem with the c-box i had remains....whether its from my side only, or from the c-box service, hopefully it will solve out soon....

  4. Hello Ana:

Indeed it was unexpected for everyone to come across Jango Jango, I guess that the fact Crash is mischievious sometimes does pay off, in this case it did. Crash wasnt making faces to any cars because there werent any around, but Im thinking he was actually trying to get the attention of the people walking where we passed.

Yes, Felix is somewhat behind his sleeping hours, but like you said, one day he will see it was worth it. Im thinking also that the fact he hadnt sleep properly was a reason of why he stood up to Jango Jango, he was a bit cranky already, not to mention that cats are proud and this one isnt one bit of a cat that allows other characters to bully him. Hopefully he will be more relaxed when we meet the next character and wont be so negative beforehand, after all Jango Jango proved to be a calmed and easy-to-get-with orangutan.

Crash also was the surprise with his initative to learn how to climb trees, Im guessing that he had enough from Felix picking on him everytime he had to climb a tree. He says he now knows how to do so, we'll see next time we find a tree to climb, Felix cant wait to challenge him.

We're glad to read you like the picture, the gang liked it also, the fact that we managed to get Jango Jango in it makes it special. It was really worth it to stop and meet him after all, we hope he has good luck on his journey too.

Felix right now is catching up with his sleep, so are Crash and Batman, we'll see where we end up next week...

Thanks for your feedback on the buttons, I will need a RSS Feed waltkthrough though, I need to grasp it properly. As for the Cbox, I dont know why the problem keeps going on, sometimes I have it but doesnt last beyond a day, I still think its a glitch in their servers, nothing I can do there.

Thanks for your visit and your extended comment, we hope to see you here next week.
