Well hello again, welcome once more to the Out Of Place Project blog.
It's been 50 days since this blog opened and we're still here, thank you all for your support!
And its time for this week's picture, the 8th of this series (technically 9th picture of this blog).
Before getting into that, Ill point out a few changes the blog has gone through this week.
I added a visit counter last week as I mentioned in Photo #7's update, but ever since I added a few more items to give more view to the blog, those are:
1.- Welcome message scroll.
2.- Countdown to next update
3.-A counter of how long has the blog been running. (Ha! I bet some of you people who noticed the previous two items didn’t notice this one!) To reveal, press End...
The first two items work both as decoration as for information for you people of when to expect the next update (especially to those of you who don’t read the updates in its entirety). The third one is mainly information for me, but it’s also there for you to watch.
I know I said I was going to change the colors of the blog layout, but I feel this combination works good for now, so Ill leave it as it is until I find a new color mix that works well enough for me.
Now, to business.
After celebrating the Black Mosquito for his 50,000 kilometers, the Out Of Place gang went outdoors again, but they stepped into a very odd place.
The gang felt they needed a nice time out, so they decided to head into a forest, but it wasn’t just any forest, this forest we stepped into is very bizarre, a lot of weird things happen.
For some reason the gang members disappeared out of nowhere and then reappeared, but in a different place far from where we were. As soon as one of them reappeared, another one would disappear.

When they disappeared, they called for the rest of the gang or me, but we didn’t hear any call, and when the member who disappeared, showed up again, it would ask the rest of us if we didn’t hear its call, we all said no, and all of them said the same thing; that they could hear their echo whenever they called for us.
We decided to keep moving so we could out of there as soon as possible, but the constant disappearing-reappearing of the gang members made it really hard.
The oddest thing happened when I turned invisible to them, yes, invisible. They couldn’t see me, and even though I called out to them, they heard me from different directions despite the fact I was right next to them. They all heard my voice coming from different directions, Batman would say North, Felix would say West and Crash said East, but I was right there with them.
Believing I had disappeared in the same fashion they did, they decided to find me and then get out of there, so they kept moving through the forest. I believed that at some point I would reappear to them, but that didn’t happen.
They got scared when they couldn’t find me, and I didn’t appear to them, and if I called them, they would just get all confused, so I decided to follow them in silence.
After getting tired of looking for me with no results, Felix suggested to get on high ground and look for me that way, of course we all know he was looking for an excuse to get on a tree. Batman thought of this also and told Felix: "You’re just looking for an excuse to get on a tree, although Ill admit that getting on high ground will help us", unfortunately Crash didn’t see that side of things and said: "Oh come on, another tree?! How many trees do you have to climb to feel satisfied about it Felix? Do you know what a hassle is for me to climb?" Felix replied: "Hey, its part of the fun of going out no?" and Crash replied "I rather race against Nitrous Oxide with a Nitro box over my head that climbing a tree! You guys go up and look for Diego and Ill wait for you here on the ground" Batman then intervened to end the discussion: "We're all going up, if we split now, you may disappear too and that means looking for two, and that way we'll take longer to get out of here, so drop the tree-hate and get on with it"
Having settled it, Felix started climbing on his own, Batman offered to take Crash with him, but Crash said he was going to climb himself to practice at it, having no other choice but to climb. After a while of waiting, Crash eventually reached the top and they three of them looked for me looking everywhere. They confused me with a log with a branch, a tree shadow, and a tree, how they thought I was such things is out of my grasp...
The picture you see here I took it while they were looking for me, since I was invisible to them at the time, and even though they seem to be looking at me, they're not. They are looking around for me.
After a while of unsuccessful search, they came down the tree, this time Crash came down with Batman (it was a pretty high tree) and Felix on his own of course. They decided to keep moving and see if they found me, I called them and told them I was next to them, but since they didn’t see me, they didn’t believe it.
They kept walking through the forest when something really odd and scary happened. Batman was pointing out several options of what to do due to the highly bizarre situation, he went from keep looking , leave the forest and call Superman so he would help them, and my personal favorite: leave the forest and wait for me for 2 days and see if I showed up, if I didn’t, they would find another photographer to keep on with the project... Felix was thinking of bringing in Spiderman and other cats he knew to help them with their search, except for one, and I quote him: "...except for Garfield, if its not for lasagna, coffee or kick Odie off a table, he isn’t getting up..." and that’s when Crash said: The funniest thing of all would be if we three also disappeared and none of us could find each other!" and POOF!, they were all gone. The only thing I could think of was: unbelievable, and maybe it would be a good idea to call Superman or Spiderman, or both...
So far I haven’t been able to find them at all, and it’s a big forest, so I have no clue where they could be, if they keep changing place or what. But in the interest of keeping this blog running and the project going on, I will find them, but I do need to call the cavalry to help me on this one.
I hope you like this week's picture, and Ill keep you posted on what happened with the search for the Out Of Place gang. Cross your fingers so I can find them!
Remember to leave me your comments about the picture, they are important to this project.
Stay tuned for next week's update, we'll see what happened with the search.
To Be Continued...
See you next week!

Decidieron seguir moviéndose y ver si me encontraban.
Continuara...
¡Nos vemos la próxima semana!

uhhhhhhhhh.....I need emoticons expressing amazement here! The atmosphere of the picture captivated me at first glance! I LOVE the spooky atmosphere in it...amazing how you managed the colours to bring that spooky effect...this can perfectly fit some horror/sci-fi scene, coz the picture itself, has loads of depth and character that you feel you are right there on the actual scene, and makes you shudder all over..weird sounds can be heard every now and then..I dont know if its hawks or bats..or wolfs...and
ReplyDeletesomething crawls through the grass, hissing, but it cant be seen...amazing, really amazing...
disappearing characters, eh? feels as if this forest is in some other dimension...twilight zone...and this feels as if you are all stuck in it...as in a computer game...you have to try out different things, using all kinds of helpful accessories, so you can manage to find your way out and eventually get the "key" so you pass/finish the level....I just wonder if once you get past the "level" called The Forest, you wont enter some other one and go into some new different interesting adventure....
and due to your disappearance, the gang really has to stick together and think hard and cooperate as much as possible so they figure out what to do, whom to call for help
and how to proceed with it all so they have a successful mission...otherwise, they should be aware that if they dont do that, their adventures will come to an end coz they will lack the moving force to all this and without you, there will be no more pictures and adventures and thats not what they want...
Now, climbing up a tree was a good idea actually, despite it was Felix's excuse to climb again and taunt Crash...he definitely loves doing that to him, knowing how much
poor Crash struggles...Crash objected to that, claiming that Felix does that on purpose to him, so he rejected to do it...but as usual, Batman steps in, and as being the most reasonable one, tries to explain to Crash that even though Felix wants to use every chance possible to show his climbing abilities, this actually is a good idea and that
they MUST stick together and that since from above, they can have an overview to the entire forest so they can observe whats going on and it will be a helpful way to find
you....so after a lot of negotiations and a few candies, Crash decided to obey. So, Felix goes first, all carefree and smiling, "hahahha...I did that to him again"...Batman
follows, saying to himself "these two are gonna kill me some day with their nonsense"...and last is Crash, struggling to make his way, either slipping down, or having his
limbs stuck into some of the tree's resin...you can hear him murmur all along the way, trying to catch his breath.."that Fe-Fe-Felix...he always does this to me...he al-al...opssss (slips down a bit)...he always finds ways to tease me and challenge me and laugh at me...why doesnt he go and chase mice...trees...trees..trees....I'll give him trees...YUK! whats this sticky thing on the tree?!..but my time will come...Ill get back to him someday..he'll see..Ill find a way of how to tease him on something he is helpless...he-he-he...he'll see...." and fiiiiiiinaalllyyy...Crash manages to climb up the tree....completely out of breath, with sticky fingers, a bruise on his left knee and some
leaves in his hair.....Felix is about to burst out laughing, but Batman gives him such a look that Felix decides it would be smarter to refrain himself from it.
So they started looking all around them, but all they could see was trees and some unusual plants and animals walking around....all of a sudden Felix thought he had heard
something so he started looking in that direction...but he couldnt see anything...thats why the puzzled confused look on his face...he told Batman and Crash about it, but
they also couldnt see anything, so they figured out it must be another of those spooky-forest-sounds...after a while it started getting cold and dark, so they decided that it
would be best if they go down and continue with the search the next day..Batman took Crash on his way down...partly coz he really felt sorry for him and wanted to help him, partly coz he wasnt in the mood of waiting for Crash to make his way down the tree.
They started walking through the forest, each one of them trying to come up with the smartest idea of what to do next, and how to handle this unpredictable situation and
who is the most reliable one to be called for help...of course, they havent managed to come to an agreement yet. And probably its better to get some rest and have some sleep, coz its been a really tiring day for them, so once they are refreshed they could think better and more
clearly...maybe there are some footsteps left in the ground...or maybe it would be a good idea to leave some marks on the ground as a sign of where they had been, so no
matter who gets to disappear or becomes invisible, maybe the signs that would be left on the ground, wont disappear, so it would be helpful (something like Hänsel und
Gretel style)
so, for now, the mystery and tension will remain of whats gonna happen...but I know that eventually a solution will pop-out and the gang will be complete again....
*****************
great picture...its dark gloomy atmosphere definitely hooks me up....keeping fingers crossed so you all find your way out of The Forest and get back together again...
ps. I hope the length of the comment aint annoying
GENIAL!!!!!!
Ana:
ReplyDeleteIm glad you liked the picture and the concept of the story behind it.
I like how you managed to give more detail to the story in general, how the forest looks like or sounds like and the expansion of the character's dialogues and actions. All of it adds more depth into the picture itself.
We'll see what happens to the gang next week.
Thank you for your comments, they are greatly appreciated and they add to the things I write about the picture.
And dont worry about the post length, I dont mind it.
Marvelle:
